Important Note: I found that a set of HendrixApt1968 .shns that has circulated is available in stores. I sent a letter about it to several siteOps and most were kind enough to respond. Here's most of that letter, adjusted for posting to etree:
I downloaded that show and it sounds great, but it's not really rare like the text file states. I was looking at the description and it seemed weird that multiple dates are mentioned. After thinking about it, I realized that I bought a similar recording a couple of years ago after an incident on dat-heads. A person had offered the music up for trade and another person had posted:
That solo recording of Jimi is from the book "Voodoo Child: The Illustrated Legend Of Jimi Hendrix" by Martin I Green, illustrated by Bill Sienkiewicz, c. 1995. It comes with a very nice CD of Jimi playing to himself in his New York City apartment in 1968. The book is still in print, i bought mine at Powell`s Books in Portland OR (they are on line) for $34.95 new. The book is OK, the CD is highly recommended. It is made from the master reel to reel tape.
The CD is titled "JIMI by himself. The Home Recordings.", published by Bella Godiva Music. The book is ISBN: 0670867896 and published by Penguin USA on Hardcover in January 1996

Originally released as an acetate, this is reportedly recorded at Jimi's New York apartment sometime in late 1969.-anon
