Everyone I know of that has
done a little genealogy, sooner or later, hits a brick wall. Mine is my
ggggrandfather, John Gibson.
Here's some of what I think I know about his John's son,
Daniel Gibson.
Daniel had two sons, Charles and Harry.
Date of Birth: February 07, 1865
Place: Pennsylvania
Date of Death: Unknown
In Daniel's complete Civil War pension file, March 29, 1915, Daniel mentions that Charles is living in Peoria, Illinois. He then describes Harry's family. This seems to imply then that Charles had little to no family? Census information is not conclusive.
I wrote to the Peoria Public Library, to see if they could help. They did an exhaustive search of the online Death Index, and found this obit, which I transcribed since it was hard to read. Same Charles, since day of birth is the same. Right? For some reason I don't believe it.
