Before becoming a professional writer, I majored in history, earned an M.A. in Latin American history at a university in Mexico...and became a computer programmer. My interest in technology took off when I needed a job and found one in the computer field. I worked as a technical trouble shooter, programmer/analyst, consultant, and trainer. Later, I taught Information Processing at a community college.

In fact, I became one of the few persons ever to teach both computer information systems and history. Moreover, I've had in-depth experience documenting computer based environmental systems, with a dash of historical perspective thrown in. My interest in environmental issues developed early in life, long before it became fashionable. As a writer, I draw upon a broad range of interests, experience, and education.

I've documented technical and business systems, working with programmers and engineers, to create system documentation and user guides. My magazine and newsletter articles have covered technology, environmental issues, professional interests, and human interest. I even served as a historical consultant for an atlas of Latin American history.

Much of the documentation I've produced is proprietary. Formal and informal agreements prevent me from copying or posting samples, so I only show those samples in person. Some of my articles, however, are available on this site. By the way, I coded this web site myself, using HTML.
