Club History

The idea of forming a Gay Club in Eugene came when Richard Kitterman attended "The March on Washington" in 1992. He learned to square dance with the Rosetown Ramblers in 1983 until he was transferred to Eugene in 1986 where he dances with a straight group. After learning about GCA caller school and the 10th annual convention in Seattle, he attended both, and held a 1st nighter in July 1993.

A group from that night started having planning meetings. It was not long until they had a name and a place to dance. Classes started September 23, 1993 with 18 people. Richard at the Microphone and no "angles". That first class started with 18 people and ended with 12. Since then there has been several smaller classes. Our present active membership is 15 people counting the caller.

Club Caller

Richard Kitterman started calling when he started Rainbow Wranglers in September 1993 He is a member of Gay Caller's Association and Callerlab. He has attended 4 GCA Caller Schools, and is currently Calling Mainstream/Plus & A2 tips on club night.
