Garland-patterned millefiori on carpet ground, Baccarat, c. 1846-55 Catalog 10 The meandering pattern of this paperweight's six-loop millefiori garland, set upon a white, stardust-cane carpet ground, gives it a festive air. This rare Baccarat paperweight was compared by Paul Hollister to a "formal garden whose flowers are set in a ground of white pebbles". |
