  • Prescription Medication. Take a written prescription and if practical, enough medication for 6 months. Let you sponsor know exactly what medication you require and why.
  • First Aid Kit. Your sponsor will be taking a first aid kit for both of you. Work it out with him, your special needs. (i.e.: allergies).
  • Toiletries. Your sponsor will be taking standard supplies for both of you such as shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream, disposable razors, sun tan lotion, aloe, etc. Work it out with him, your special needs. (i.e.: Mustache wax.) Bring your own toothbrush.

Clothing

This trip is all in hot weather. The temperature should not get below 70 F at any time. This is not a tour where your luggage is taken care of. You must carry your own luggage and that of the sponsor. Sometimes walking for miles. So... Don't take much.

It is much better to take a few pieces of high quality, new clothing than to take a lot of the stuff you already have. Used clothing can be bought as needed and discarded. Special clothing can be rented as needed. For example Tux or Wet Suit.

You should get three sets of color coordinated clothes. Then add sandals and swim trunks to complete. Learn to do without underwear and socks. Get the type of clothing that dries quickly and that the air can blow thru, like jogging shorts and Coolmax shirts. Get the type of swim trunks worn by Olympic swimmers. This is the normal swim attire outside of the US. Get sandals that can be worn in the water AND hiking. Something like River Runners. Everything you take, except for the sandals, should fit into 1/2 of a schoolbook bag. (Don't bring a book bag; the sponsor has one for you to share.)

The sponsor can purchase these for you if you want. You must state size, color, and style (modest, average, or risqué). They will be in your cabin upon departure.
