Treat the sponsor with respect and he will do the same for you.
Try to make each day enjoyable for the sponsor. This can be done easily by including him in on your enjoyment.

Stay with the sponsor
Undeniably you can walk faster, swim faster, etc. but don't do it. Adjust your pace to stay near the sponsor. Never leave the sponsor alone.
Listen to what is said to the sponsor
Make sure that the sponsor understands what is being said. Be his ears and eyes if necessary.
Do anything for the sponsor that is easier for you to do
Age makes many physical things harder to do. Carry the luggage. Do the laundry. etc. The sponsor does have the experience and knowledge. Allow him to teach and instruct.
