Brush Creek
An
oasis in which to soak, play and relax.
ABOUT .......
Formerly a part of an 1885 mining claim, this natural hot spring was drilled in 1924 during the exploration for oil. Drilling was stopped at a depth of 2,000 feet when a natural geothermal water source of 325 gallons per minute was reached.
This Colorado health spa is located on 160 acres off U.S. Highway 50 and 1 mile West of Highway 115. This area, commonly called the Banana Belt of Colorado, is near the city of Florence where the first oil discovery occurred West of the Mississippi River and the second most productive well in the United States at that time was established.
At an altitude of 5,200 feet is situated in a protected, spectacular desert valley surrounded by majestic mountain ranges. Brush Hollow Creek flows through the property and traverses through rolling hills and wetlands to the Arkansas River.

The average annual temperature is 56F. Summer temperatures range from the mid 80s to the mid 90s. Rainfall is 13" per year and the sun shines approximately 350 days per year. Winters are usually mild and sunny, thus the facilities are open and usable year 'round.
The concrete pool is free form with an average diameter of 70 feet and varies in depth from 3 feet to 5 feet. The water temperature, is a consistent 108F at the well head and gushes into a 6 foot diameter circular tub. The remainder of the pool averages 95F. The pool is drained and cleaned once per week. Chemicals are never added to the pool water. The water is pure, crystal clear and sparkling due to carbon dioxide gas which bubbles in it. The water contains therapeutic salts, soda and calcium... best of all, the water does not contain any measurable sulfur or iron. There is no sulfurous odor.

no glass containers will be tolerated near the pool. We reserve
