This view in Colorado Wilderness shows many wildflowers. I spent 3 days in this area (I have many images), and 5 hours in this one spot waiting for the right lighting and a calm in the wind. A big enlargement appears like you are sitting in the field. This image won 1st place in the 1999 U. S. Geological Survey National Photography Contest, Nature, Professional category.
This large-format (4x5) image is 12950 x 16,400 pixels
(approx 3300 dpi drumscan) allows sharp enlargements of
43 x 55 inches at 300 pixels per inch to be made.
The image was made with a 90 mm lens at f/64 with Fujichrome
Velvia film using front tilts to maximize sharpness over the
entire image.
