LIFE BEGINS AT
40!
Teachers Park Avenue Residence, located at 2625 Park Avenue, Minneapolis,
is celebrating 40 years of service to seniors and community. Where were you
in '62? It was the year that: Marilyn Monroe and Eleanor Roosevelt
died
Lawrence of Arabia won best picture
John Steinbeck won the
Nobel in Literature and Linus Pauling for Peace
The Cuban Missile Crisis
brought us to the brink
John Glenn achieved Earth orbit
Rachel
Carson published Silent Spring
bread was $.21 a loaf, milk was $1.04
a gallon, car prices averaged $2,275 and the Dow hit 652.
In the midst of all of this, Teachers Park Avenue Residence opened its doors
and pioneered a trend in housing -- a community of retirees, sharing common
interests, dining together, having 24-hour emergency response and access
to health care services within the building, and, above all, enjoying
companionship.
The vision of the early founders, many of whom were members of Minneapolis
Retired Teachers, Inc., was always inclusive. Their legacy is, indeed, a
community diverse in careers, backgrounds, heritage. Teachers Homes, Inc.
continues, as from the beginning, to own and operate the building. Ebenezer
Realty Services Company has been a partner in management since 1979.
With major renovation recently completed -- a nearly three quarter million
dollar exterior restoration project by Building Restoration Corporation --
Teachers Residence is ready to step into the "Life begins at 40" stage of
its existence.
Come join us in our Celebratory Event Sunday, September 29, 2002 from 1:00-4:00
p.m. Enjoy a buffet lunch, music, brief program and guided tours of our building
and apartment. RSVP please (612) 871-4574. |
