Yautja Starships

Yautja do have advanced technology compared to Human standards.  Some of the technology in Yautja ships is PL8 like:  Space folding, Multiphase radar, Cloaking units, Foldsenders, Crystallis armor, and Madars.  Other items are PL7 like:  Antimatter reactors, Induction engines, Plasma cannons, and Drivespace inhibitors.

Most ships of the Yautja would dance rings around the Stellar Nation's ships.  However, Yautja ships do have some weaknesses.  The antimatter that fuels the antimatter reactors is a very unstable substance.  If the compartments that contain the antimatter reactors receive too much damage, the result is a massive explosion as the antimatter and matter collide and destroy each other.

The greatest advantage the Yautja starships have is the ability to use Spacefolding technology to travel faster than light.  Although the navigation is complex, spacefolding is nearly instantaneous.  Depending on the power output, a normal ship can jump 5 light-years per jump.  Once a recharge is done, (only a few hours to recharge the accumulator) then the ship can jump again.  Spacefolding requires enormous amounts of power, so Yautja ships are frequently overpowered compared to standard Stellar nation ships.

Foldsenders use the space folding technology to send instantaneous messages over vast distances; 100,000 light-years.  The Yautja are never out of contact range with others of their kind.

Yautja ships all use Crystallis armor witch makes the craft shift colors from different angles of view.  This armor is very useful against energy weapons but not as effective against low impact and high impact weapons.

The reason the Yautja remain only myths and legends is lent to the Cloaking units they have on their ships and persons.  Many Verge ships have encountered Yautja ships and have never been aware of their presence.

Fortunately for the Verge, Yautja do not have, nor are they planning on constructing any of the larger capital starships.  They are not interested in much other than personal combat, but if it comes down to a fight, the Vergers will have their hands full fighting Yautja ships.
