Personal Biography and Dedication

This genealogy record is of Billy Foy Murray (adopted in 1956 and name changed to William Lynn Pearson) and Sandra Jo (Campbell) Pearson and contains original research and records contributed by many cousins, libraries, and Internet sites.

I never met nor talked to my real father, Foy Wilson Murray.  My mother packed us up and left Lubbock, Texas in 1939 at my tender age of 17 days old, moving to Dallas, Texas and we lived with my grandmother Lorena Amelia Travers.  My father, Foy, had no interest in me, and there were no paternal longings or feelings ever developed on my part.  My stepfather, Marvin Eugene Pearson married my mother, Mary in 1945.  Into my life came a stepsister, Sally, and a stepbrother, Tom, who became my real family.  About 10 years later I was adopted by "Jack" Pearson.  I was always known in school and work as Bill Pearson.

I grew up in Dallas, attending for 4 years each: St. Edwards Academy; St. Thomas Academy; and high school at Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas. After receiving mediocre grades in high school and somewhat worse in college, I went into the stock brokerage business, where I remained my entire working career. As you will learn by careful reading, I have had several marriages, and fewer kids. But this family history is not about me.

What you could also gather from this document, is that my ancestors had far more eventful and dramatic happenings in their lives. To all of them, this work is dedicated.

Pictured here are five generations of my family beginning with uncle Henry Hamilton holding my daughter Kelly Lynn Pearson.  On the left is my mother Mary Eugenia (Patterson) Pearson and my grandmother Lorena Amelia (Houston) Travers.  The picture was taken on Christmas Day, in Dallas, Texas - 1963.
