Lomi-Lomi,

The Sacred Hawaiian body work.

Interview with Ivana

(By Matthew Hill)

Question: What are the Ancient Hawaiian Beliefs?

Answer:

We are one with I’o (Creator, God, Ke Akua ).

All are one

All life is founded on love.

Life is a school.

Everything has mana (life force) in it.

The only law is not to hurt anyone.

When you accept yourself as the powerful being that you are - all things are possible.

There are no accidents, everything happens for a reason.

We are one with the universe.

In their dreams, Kahunas work on the other side of the rainbow

( the causal plane)

Kahunas are taught to use their psychic abilities.

They use meditation.

Initiations were done by the Kahuna breathing on top of the initiate’s head.

Question: Ivana can you tell us what Lomi-Lomi is ?

Answer: Lomi-Lomi is a form of a massage. It goes deeper than the physical. It penetrates all aspects of our being. The physical emotional mental and the spiritual.

Question: How is Lomi-Lomi done?

Answer: It’s a dance like Hula movement massage, producing lots of energy that carries you to a higher state of consciousness. The practitioner is using the forearms in rhythmic movements making you fell like an infant being rocked in a cradle. That makes you feel safe and relaxed like when you were a baby.

Question: Is there another name for Lomi –Lomi?

Answer: Yes, it’s called the embracing hands of the mother.

Question: How can you benefit the most by Lomi-Lomi?

Answer: When you leave yourself open for the healing and nurturing energy. Breathe the Huna Haaaaaaaaaaa breath and you will build up the energy, the Prana.

Question: How can I build the life force energy?

Answer: Take a slow, deep breath through your nose and exhale through your mouth while you say the word Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. The longer you will breathe the Ha breath, the more energy you will build up.

Question: Where does the built up Prana go?

Answer: Offer it to your higher self, that’s where the miracles and transformations are created.

Question: What’s the first step in Lomi-Lomi?

Answer: It’s the dedication of the session to anything that you want to create in your life, or to release and get rid of. Before we create something new, first it is necessary to release that which no longer serves us. Create a space for what you want by releasing and letting go of what you no longer need.

Question: How does Lomi-Lomi heal?

Answer: The principle behind Lomi-Lomi is that the back represents the future and the front, the past. Many clients are able to release their past traumas, creating a space for better things in their life.

Question: Is Lomi-Lomi the same as Huna work?

Answer: No they are not the same. Even though both Lomi-Lomi and Huna came from the Hawaiian Kahunas, they are different.

Lomi-Lomi is the physical rhythmic movements of the massage and Huna is the Energy work.

Question: What does Huna mean and why don’t more people know about it?

Answer: Huna is Kapu, the forbidden knowledge. Because of the Missionaries coming to Hawaii, trying to convert the Hawaiians to their religion, Kahunas, the healers had to remain hidden. They were the keepers of the sacred knowledge.

Question: How does the Huna work?

Answer: Huna is powerful energy work. It works with the four elements of creation:

1) Air

2) Fire

3) Water

4) Earth

Question: That reminds me the medicine wheel of the Native American people. Are they similar?

Answer: It’s similar in such a way that both Shamanism and Huna work with the Four Elements of Creation. The healing is done in a little different way.

Question: How does the healing between Shamanism and the Huna differ?

Answer: Huna uses the Four Elements of Creation and Shamanism, the Four directions in the Medicine wheel which represents different stages in life we are going through.

Question: Are the four directions East, South, West and the North?

Answer: Yes. Going from the East to North in the clockwise, creation cycle.

Question: How does Huna use the Medicine Wheel?

Answer: In Shamanism, there are four totem animals, one at each direction……………… In Huna, there are four Goddesses:

Uli in the North

Mana in the West

Pele, the fire Goddess in the South

Loka in the East.

Question: How does Huna use the Elements of Creation?

Answer: Huna uses the Rainbow colors at the highest possible frequency that you can easily connect with, together with the Four Elements of Creation.

Question: Why does Huna use Rainbows, is it because they inspire awe?

Answer: No, there is more to it than that. We have seven major energy centers that vibrate at a certain frequency. It goes from Red at the first center to Lavender at the top of the head. The colors are assimilated through the seven vital energy centers for healing.

Question: Lot’s of people are familiar with Reiki. How is Reiki different from Huna?

Answer: Reiki originates in Japan. It’s lying on of hands, channeling the life force energy while using the Universal symbols. Reiki healing takes about an hour…………………...

Huna uses Rainbows and the Four Elements of Creation. Huna takes about 15 minutes.

Question: How can Lomi-Lomi and Huna help me?

Answer: It can relax you so you can feel one with yourself and bring this state of mind to everything that you do.

Question: How would oneness be possible in such a hectic world as the one we are living in?

Answer: Since Lomi-Lomi is nurturing and healing, it promotes a feeling of safety and relaxation. When your body is relaxed you can heal. We all need healing and nurturing that we don’t get in our everyday world. When we are healed we can recognize our oneness.

Question: How does the session start?

Answer: I ask the client to breathe the Huna Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa breath that builds the mana. Then I use different sounds to break up the hectic, tense energy.

I continue using harmonious sounds that help clients to let go and feel balance and peace, then I begin the massage.

Question: Ivana, do you use any other techniques to help clients relax?

Answer: Yes, sometimes I use the DNA posters to create something that I feel is lacking. I also use the sound and light therapy, (ISIS) to help balance the brain’s frequency.

Question: Do you use anything else to help the client?

Answer: Yes I do, I use The Miracle Trigger to help to relax the spine and hot towels for muscle relaxation.
